It was 35 years ago today John Lennon was murdered. I felt I lost a friend that day. Let us not forget when he meant to the world of music and the world at large.
I'll never forget that day. I was living in a small apartment in Rosamond, CA when Howard Cosell announced it on MNF. The Patriots and Dolphins were the two teams playing that night. I was so upset I didn't go to work the next day. Couldn't pull myself together enough. John was the chief architect of the soundtrack of my life and the lives of so many others.

I was watching Monday Night Football when Howard Cosell gave the news. It took a while for it to sink in because it was so hard to believe.
