Remember the Alamo


     On this day in 1836 the Alamo fell to the forces of General Santa Anna. Among the defenders who died in the battle was Davy Crockett, pictured above.

Just finished "Come to the Bower" by J. Y. Bryan, apparently his only book. It covers the period of Texas's war for independence. A good read. At 500 pages it might have been shorter.
